Prague’s Left Bank

May 2026

Prague’s left bank ? Vineyards on the bank of the Vltava in Smichov and Hradcany ?  Even if this months box is not a collection of this Prague fantasy, both our suppliers are from the left back of the city.  Both Vinodome and Specialites de France are long time partners of ours, and have never stopped bringing new wines to the table.

What is new this month ? A mix of some old favorites and rarer varieties that will be a first for many of you.

A creamy French Viognier and fresh Italian Pinot Grigio fall firmly into the first category.  These can be your go to wines after a tough day has zapped your spirit of adventure. But the Loin de l’œil, Braucol, and Nielluccio, Sciacarello, and Syrah blend will be wines for adventure. Who knows, your next favorite could be found in a Corsican village overlooking the sea, or the region of Gaillac France.

The left bank enjoys the sunrise over the river and shade in the afternoon. Sounds like a perfect place for a drink !

Located between the sea and the mountains close to the village of Porto Vecchio, the estate is a pioneer in Corsican organic farming. The vines are worked by hand organically, without pesticides or weedkillers. And if you taste Grenache and Syrah, you won't be wrong.
