Ole ole ole
What better way to start off the new year than with a box of Bio dynamic Spanish wines ! You didn’t see that coming :-) . Indeed we start 2019 with a something new and exciting and with this months lack of sulfates, we can believe it is even a healthy first step into January.
A “BIO January” wasn’t our intention when we went looking in Spain, but after the first tasting it was clear that these were something we had never had before. This month is full of that thick, yeasty flavor that characterizes natural wines, both white and red.
It would be impossible to do Spanish whites without an Albarino, and ours from Val de Nora gives a fresh light scent of white fruit and peaches. It would also be impossible not to try a Xarel-lo, which no doubt none of us have ever heard of before today.
Our reds are a bit less exotic consisting of Tempranillo and Grenacha blends. Exceptionally fruity, cherry and plum and not to long on the pallet. Think exciting and fresh before long and relaxing and you will be ready for these.
So enjoy the snow and some lazy time post holiday stress with a fresh, energizing start of Spanish wine that will also save the planet ! What could be better.

Mike's Tip
Our first entry in the "natural" wine category this month. Look for a light but oily finish with a big helping of minerals. Kind of like what you would get from the run off of smashing exotic fruits on a cliff.

Taus stands for Tierra, Agua, Uvas, Sol, or Earth, Water, Grapes and Sun. A great red t drink slightly chilled, as the black berries and raspberries will jump right out at you. A bargain priced wine that delivers a lot of music.
