Cherries, plums and tannins. This is the kind of stuff I love in a Bordeaux blend. Merlot and Cabernet Franc means lots of red fruit and I will say it again - CHERRY, and what some will find a bit more acidity. Best with a steak - a combo from heaven.

Technically a cuvee, but given the 90% base of Nielluciu , this is a full bodied fruity wine that will remind many of Primitivo, or Negroamaro. On the hills in Corsica overlooking the sea, this vineyard has been continuously producing wines since the 17th century. Expect dark fruits and a huge front end. Will be best to decant or put this one away and come back to it in the fall.

A versatile blend that despite its' power has a medium body in the mouth. The mix of Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon brings lots of black fruit to the pallet, but did not weigh me down. It went great with my BBQ, but could also work with a pork chop and salad. Another treat from Aix-en-Provence !
