Box: February 2024
Free to Choose

This month we have a great selection of wines from across the south of Europe, all brought to us from our friends at Foltyn wines. Be it a powerful Spanish Tempranillo, or a subtle Czech Rulandské šedé, you are equipped for all 29 days this February.
Like Every February, we are now in the full fancy dress ball season and I wanted to bring some wines that are suitable for the occasion. The whites include both local varieties as well as something that will match perfect with a Viennese Waltz (Veltliner feels so noble) . Add in a mix of light Italian blends suitable for any occasion and we have the whole weekend covered.
Our reds concentrated on power and bold statements across a number of Spanish matadors. Pair these with care, and they will have you dancing till the morning dawn.
Like always, you are free to choose if tonight you are a dancing machine or a wall flower, but what ever your flavour we got you covered
Enjoy

This blend of Chardonnay, Malvasia, and Verdeca from the hills of Salenta get their character from the iron fill earth of the area. A mineral filled, balanced white that will do well with fish or pork.

A big full bodied red with that kick (14.5%) would get from the region. Dark fruit and earthy tones come of a 6 month barrel aging process. Pair wisely, and dust off the grill for best results.

Ruby red and full of forest fruit, red current and a bit of cedar. The fruits come out juicy and sweet, making this a great companion for spicy meats or sausages.

Despite an intense red fruit nose, this is a medium bodied with some acidity that goes well with meats with a touch of fat or gristle. Contrary to what you may think, this wine is grown in a relatively cool area, giving it its lighter body.
Venta la Ossa

I had to try the Blue Bear ! This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Syrah delivers a medium body and one that is laced with cherry and other red fruit. A great all round dinner wine.
