Club Treasure

This month we rediscovered an old favorite and at the same time found a treasure of great wine and food! It all started with an easy lunch date at Ichnusa Botega Bistro in Prague 5.

Without question, the best Sardinian place in town and an old favorite of ours. If you don’t know Ichnusa, this is relaxed family style place with a revolving menu of whatever is fresh and the best selection of Sardinian wines in the country. So during lunch we (finally) meet the owner Antonello, tell him about IWCoK and then weren’t allowed to leave without tasting EVERYTHING and booking the date for the Ichnusa exclusive box. 7 wines later, we had a deal. Our discovery was that every thing we tried, we loved. How many times have we eaten here, and not thought about our members ? Unforgivable…

Our favorite wine of the lot and the king of Vermentino. Refreshing and never boring, with lots of flowers that make this a perfect example for the grape and region. This is a perfect white for dinner or just sipping on the sofa. Exclusive!

Strong fruit flavor with a hint of pepper or something spicy. Not sure what it was but worked well for us with a pork chop :-)

Tiscali Isola dei Nuraghi I.G.T.

  • Grape: Cuveé
  • Alcohol: 13,5%
  • Style: Medium-bodied dry white wine
  • Drink: Wine for immediate consumption

Mike's Tip

One thing you can’t miss in this grape is the red fruit. This comes out of a steel tank, making the flavor all the more intense.

Tuttiventi Vermentino di Sardegna D.O.C.

Wine description:

  • Country: Italy
  • Grape: Vermentino
  • Alcohol: 13,5%
  • Style: Light and refreshing dry white wine
  • Drink: Wine for immediate consumption
  • Supplier: Ichnusa Botega Bistro
  • Price: 510 Kč

Mike's Tip

This is a simple Vermentino and best when you want something light and refreshing. The easiest to drink of all the whites, but don’t let the subtlety fool you – this one is a winner.

Inachis

  • Alcohol: 13,5%
  • Style: Light and refreshing dry white wine
  • Drink: Wine with potencial 2 to 5 years
  • Supplier: Ichnusa Botega Bistro

Mike's Tip

Straw yellow in color with a very long finish. Look for the almonds in this one. Not bad with something fried or anything with some fat in it. Fish fingers and cheese ? Why not.

Bisos Bianco

  • Drink: Wine for immediate consumption
  • Supplier: Ichnusa Botega Bistro

Mike's Tip

Light and refreshing with a hint of mineral to light up your mouth. Of course a great aperitiv or with fish. Nothing complicated – just fun bubbles.

Bisos Rose

Jahody a suché jahody. Pokud si jich nevšimnete, je něco špatně :-)

Unisteri

  • Alcohol: 13,5%
  • Style: Medium-bodied red wine
  • Drink: Wine with potencial 2 to 5 years
  • Supplier: Ichnusa Botega Bistro
  • Price: 653 Kč

Mike's Tip

What a combination of Cannonau, Merlot and Cabernet Saugvignon. This one is mixed exclusively by the wine maker for a friend and it works really well for a young wine. So smooth it beats out wines at double the price. Remember this is a fresh wine, so set your expectations and be very pleasantly surprised.
