November Wine Trail

One thing I never expected to do in November was to visit a winery in Arizona. Indeed they exist and unfortunately there is not much to say other than “maybe in time” we will have something to talk about. So without any desert wine on our tables this month, I have followed the trail of a couple other wineries that we can call sure things. And to make it more intersting, all the reds this month are based on Cabernet Sauvvignon.

The first Cabernet is from Palazzo Coronini Cronberg and is brought to us by the same wine makers that make Primosic, which for me is the undisputed king of Friulli red wines. I love the Northern Italian reds with the acidity and light taninns (the Primosic “Metamorfis” was our Christmas feast wine for the past 2 years ! ). I tried this Cabernet 3 months ago and knew immediately we had to have it. The fact that they don’t sell it in CZ (yet) was just a small obstacle. (Call it an IWCoK exclusive!) Also from Italy we bring in our fist Sardinian wine that just might take you back (mentally) to your summer holiday.

Following the string from last months “Amnesia” we stayed with the same Portuguese wine maker and bring you 2 more slightly up-market wines. In value for money category, our judges give these wines 10 out of 10.

I was also thinking about the colder weather, and wanted to start a steady flow of not just Cabernets (which we have a lot more of in the pipeline) but also Rieslings. Generally both varieties are bold in taste and are best to be drank with real food. i.e. big plates of meat (white or red) and cheese. I am all to keen to indulge!
