That Summer Air
August and STOP. The slowest moving month of the year is with us. On holiday or enjoying being the only person in the office ? What ever works for you in August will be accompanied by something special from us!
Our whites this month are predominantly a Iberian affair. Spanish Trebbiano and Chardonnay with their elegant gold color and tropical fruits will make all the BBQ this season a hit. For that salmon you have been looking forward to eating all week, these wines will pair up perfectly.
Think of this month’s Reds as a sample of every holiday destination on your “to Do” list. Spain, Italy, and Portugal bring a mix of full-bodied wines that will stand up to anything you or on neighbors are throwing on the grill. And what about the Susumaniello ? This long forgotten local variety of Puglia will surprise some of you for it’s light and flavor and medium tannin.
And the added bonus ? Nearly every wine this month was a medal winner at the Prague Wine Trophy. So, relax on holiday and trust the experts (they got this part right)

Mike's Tip
Gold in color and fragrance, this chardonnay filled with tropical fruit and flavor (pineapple, banana, and vanilla) . Will go well with Salmon, other gilled fish or a plate of tapas. A relaxing companion.

Mike's Tip
This blend on a base of Malvasia is elegant with fine flavor. Look for yellow fruits with slight green tones over a touch of acidity. Serve with light, salty foods.

Krásné Chardonnay, které zrálo 6 měsíců v barrikových sudech. Má jiskřivou barvu, plný charakter. Je plné aroma žlutého ovoce s nádechem bylinek a výrazné minerální chuti s náznaky cedru.

Coming form one of the most prestigious wine regions of Portugal, the bouquet offers aromas of red and dark berries delicately combined with floral and balsamic aspects. Good volume, pleasant freshness and round tannins.

Mike's Tip
What would a box be without a big bold Primitivo from the Italian South ? ( A missed opportunity.. ;-) . Nothing new or remarkable here, but a mouthful of Jamy fruit that demands an audience of grilled meat or burgers.

Mike's Tip
A strong nose with light red fruits that are slightly sweet, but with a balanced acidity and tannin. Syrah is becoming my go to grape, and you will find this one a mature and elegant drink. After all, I was a Prague wine trophy gold medal winner !
