Box: December 2022
Jingle Jingle

Where does the time go ? Another Christmas holiday is on our doorstep and I still haven’t finished all the books I received last year. We did manage to finish all the wine though… So, if you are like me, we are in luck. December brings a new selection of delights for your holiday table.
What did we do special for this December box ? Honestly – EVERYTHING. We are delivering the same top picks we always do like the bone dry, mineral filled Chardonnay from France, or the full, rich, super high octane red blend from Bulgaria. Want more special ? Try the Sauvignon or for the first time the Fleurie from France.
As every year, I want to say thank you for your support and patronage over the past 12 months. Our 11th IWCoK year has not been without its surprises but with your help and patience, we made it. New regions, new suppliers, new varieties and all in the same super convenient IWCoK box. And 2023 ?

This is a blend of viognier, chardonnay and local variety tamianka. Light in colour but medium to long in the finish. The oily Viognier gives this wine its body and tail. Perfect for your pre-Christmas chicken Tikka.

A balanced and fresh dose of acidity on what is a classic mineral filled French Chardonnay. Much closer to the Chablis style than California, so rather pair with a baked chicken than salmon.

I don't remember a Bulgarian Sauvignon with this intensity. Lots of grass and nettles - exactly what we want to see here. Super refreshing so will also work as an aperitif for your holiday guests.

I put this one in knowing that we will all need a go to wine one day between the holidays when we will need a glass by ourselves... Meets all the requirements and does it at a fair price - enjoy

Katarzyna Estate does one thing very well - STRONG. Not that it needs a safety warning, but this wine will benefit by decanting and letting it sit for an hour. Plus, vanilla, chocolate and smoke. Not to be drank before 20:00.

Red fruit, pepper and liquorice. This is a relatively light Bulgarian blend of Rubin and Syrah that will go best with chicken or pork.

A respectable Bordeaux blend from one of my favourite wine regions anywhere, Goriska Brda. On a base of merlot, you will find a dry yet fruit wine full of cherry and raspberry.

Every Christmas box needs a monster - and this one is it. A velvet smooth blend of merlot and Cabernet, this one goes down so smooth you will never see the 15% coming. Big meats, and French fries recommended.
