St Martin Nouveau
November is an important wine month. Even though he harvest is well behind us, this month brings us the first wines of the season. Whether your team is called “St Martin” or “Beaujolais Nouveau”, these are the first entrants to the new wine season. But as fun as they are, I find few people who call these young, fruity and energetic wines their favorite – so we gave them a miss in the November box. We however did bring a selection of NEW French wines from our long time friend and supplier Vinodome.
Our whites cover all the classics – A Chardonnay from Macon Village, a Viognier from the rivers edge, a Grenache Blanc that not only sounds so, but tastes so (French ). To make it even more interesting, we introduce the first French Alvarinho you will have in your life.
Our rends start with 2 staples from the Rhone Valley, a Cotes du Rhone and a Costieres de Nimes where they still bull fight to this day. Add a Bordeaux blend and a new fresh rose that will leave you refreshed and feeling cleaner than a Listerine wash (acidic and fruity are the best wines for snacks and wetting your guests appetite before that fabulous dinner you worked on all Saturday!

Domaine de Luc

Mike's Tip
Full of a rich, oily citrus zest and touch of peaches and honey. The wine has passed through oak to give a rounded flavour that (for some reason) goes great with tuna. Try it yourself!

Mike's Tip
A fresh nose that brings you some pineapples and strawberries. Good acidity to keep your pallet clean. This is a relaxing wine that will go well with most any food.

Mike's Tip
An elegant, highly acidic wine ideal for drinking with salty, white fish or mussels. Powerful and fresh at the start, but extremely dry and short on the finish. This is serious stuff !

Our first ever Alvarinho from France! Like its cousins from the west, this is a wine full of apricots. Light and medium acidity. And easy drink for any day of the week.

Blackberries and liquorice in this deep, dark vegan wine! This is a rich an juicy blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache.

Mike's Tip
This is a classic Rhone valley blend (Syrah, grenache, Mourvèdre) that the wine maker describes as "stocky". We have no idea what that is, but we liked it :-)

Another Rhone valley blend (grenache, Syrah, Carignan) matched with the fantastic creativity of the wine maker calling it a "Crunchy and easy-going mouth-feel". OK, lets go !
