It’s 2014 and We are Hungary for some more !
One would expect the January newsletter to be all about how great 2013 was and our plans for the coming year. Indeed that is all coming, but (I assume) just like you, we at IWCoK needed a break in December. And the last 14 days we did exactly that: NOTHING. We just enjoyed some food and wine with family. Box ticked – not lets get to work !
In keeping with tradition, our January box introduces a brand new importer and a goes to a region that we have only started to discover. This month we go back to Hungary as well as try a new region (Somlo) that makes absolutely fantastic whites.
Our featured importer this month is Boden Fine Wines in Prague, and the owners Brett and Luke have been concentrating on digging out some gems from our near neighbor. They have not only found a fantastic Cabernet Franc, but also some whites that totally blew me away. Welcome to the exceptionally rich and oakey wine of Somlo – a meal in themselves 
And would I ever do a Hungarian box without a Cabernet Franc ?! – Never
Boden Fine Wines imports the best wines in Central Europe. Our selection changes frequently as we discover new wines and winemakers. We specifically seek out smaller producers who are doing something unique. We are only interested in extremely high-quality and memorable wines. At the moment, our selections come from Villány, Somló, Szekszárd and Tokaj in Hungary and Burgenland in Austria. We do not charge for delivery in Prague on orders of six bottles or more.
