Mike's Tip
A very old and little known variety, Babeasca Neagra roughly translates to "Grandmotherly Black" and comes from the Moldova region of north Eastern Romania. Despite its name, Glia ia a light bodied, cherry flavored wine that will be calm on the pallet. Many compare this grape to Pinot Noir and Grenache, but it reminded me of a Valpolicella. We liked it - a lot! This will be a great with red meat.
